Capture

An area, a window, or the whole screen, from the menu bar item or a global key. Every shot is copied to the clipboard on the way and filed under Recent Captures.

Annotate

Arrows that run straight, arced or hand-drawn. Text, shapes, highlights, numbered steps and magnifier lenses. Tools stay armed after you draw, so annotations chain.

Redact

Blur, pixelate, or drop a solid block. Auto-redact reads the picture with Vision and covers every email address, token, IP address and phone number it finds.

Backgrounds

196 mesh gradients, ported to Swift and drawn natively at whatever size the canvas is. Or a solid colour, a picture of your own, or a blurred copy of the shot itself.

Frames and layouts

Wrap a shot in a macOS window, a browser, an iPhone or a MacBook. Select several and the style bar lays them out as a grid, a row, a column, or before and after.

Export and save

PNG, JPEG, WebP or PDF up to 4×, or drag the finished canvas straight into Slack. A canvas saves as a .shotshot file, and a recovery copy is written after every edit.
